Lovely 1930 AJS R9 Sports Tourer De Luxe. Older restoration. Matching numbers.
This AJS competed in many rallies and is a good runner. Not perfect condition but very presentable. Started first kick after having stood still for months. Magneto refurbished by magneto specialist two years ago.
Original Lucas MT110 rear lamp and original Lucas H52 headlamp with correct rear mounted switch fitted. Correct Lucas Magdyno stamped 1930. Bronze Amal carburettor fitted. Correct Sturmey Archer LS 3-speed gearbox.
Correct Smiths speedo to fit in the petrol tank is included with the bike but needs refurbishing. The front mudguard has a dent in between the fork legs and although not the most visually obvious it would be an easy fix to repair. The seat is a genuine Dunlop Drilastic rubber seat but has been covered with vinyl sometime in the past. It would suit the bike to remove the vinyl so the Dunlop rubber seat is visible again.
The AJS R9 Sports comes with current EU registration documents.
