MGB GT, Original Factory V8, Restored Heritage Shell, 5 Speed LT77 Gearbox, Power Steering.
Well, where do I start! What an unbelievable car. If you are interested in buying a phenomenal MGB, you might have just found what you are looking for.
The MGB is an original, factory V8 MGB GT. It was first made in 1975, being an original ‘rubber bumper’ car.
It has had an incredible amount of money spent on it during the restoration and any serious buyers are more than welcome to speak to the MG Owners Club approved garage whom completed the full restoration.
In brief, here are the works completed:-
- Complete ‘nut and bolt’ rebuild using a MGB GT V8 Chrome Bumper new Heritage Shell.
- The original V8 engine has been completely stripped and rebuilt, rebored +20.
- Reconditioned rear axle.
- Reconditioned 5 speed, Rover LT77 gearbox.
- Power steering fitted.
- RV8 manifolds and stainless steel exhaust fitted.
- 15 inch Revolution wheels fitted, with matching Yokohama tyres.
- MGB Club leather seats.
The restoration was completed between 2006 and 2008, with all invoices being retained, totaling a sum of £36, 889. I imagine the sum of a similar restoration now would be in the region of £50, 000. Please bear in mind, there’s also the cost of buying the initial factory V8 car before the restoration too! I therefore feel to restore a similar factory V8 to the same condition and specification of my car, I do not think you would have any change from £60, 000. It has only covered 4, 000 miles since the restoration too.
The paint and panels still remain in excellent condition and worthy of any show inspection. The glorious Black Tulip receives so many admiring looks whenever it is on the road.
It has just been freshly serviced and checked over in June 2023 (invoice - £498) and is ready to be enjoyed.
Serious buyers only please – I do not think you will find a better driving MGB in the country, advertised at a fraction of the replacement cost.
