This restored Rover 12 Tourer is one of around 200 built between 1947 and 1948. It has remained in the same family since 1966 and was extensively restored around 6 years ago with over £13000 being spent. It is a highly original but not concourse example and restoration was focussed on retaining many of its original features.
This model was really produced for export and was famous for its Freewheel operation, but a few remained in the UK and GUE 217 is an original UK market car. The extensive restoration was carried out to a very high standard, but the good leather seats and trim were retained for originality.
The extensive history file includes the V5C registration certificate, along with an extensive array of documentation through the years.
This vehicle has been in my family for the whole of my life. It has passed from my great uncle to my grandfather. It then became my fathers and later mine. It holds significant sentimental value to me, but my knowledge of cars of this era is limited. It comes with a lot of family history having been involved in family weddings and travels across Europe in its younger years.
