Description
Motodrome are pleased to offer this very original example of the Rover P6, a 1967 2000TC with manual gearbox, finished in Venetian Red with buckskin leather
P6’s, with their high level of engineering, are supremely useable for a classic in modern traffic. And the pre-1970 examples like this one have a purity of line and style that the later cars, with their extra seventies-style trim and bulges, lack in my opinion. Plus the early cars are much rarer.
As above, this is a TC model which, in it’s day, was regarded as a usefully quick executive saloon. It’s equipped with 4-speed manual transmission, full leather, period radio, the original Irvin aircraft style seatbelts, and a period aftermarket heated rear window.
The odometer reads 76000 miles and we have a massive history file on this one. It seems to have been in one family ownership from the mid 1970’s up until 2021, which has presumably helped preserve it.
Further history items include the original green logbook, old MOT’s back to 1990, owners handbook and maintenance manual, and a big sheaf of bills back to 1991, including a bill for a full engine rebuild in 1991 at 64721m.
Recent history highlights include new front discs 2021, new clutch hydraulics and starter motor 2022, new clutch, 4 new tyres, new battery, reconditioned radiator, and general servicing in 2023
It’s ULEZ, RFL and MOT exempt.
It goes down the road very well indeed, belying it’s age with no rattles or clonks, rides beautifully, and certainly brought a smile to my face on test. .
