Up for rulctant sale is my dad's 1953 Jensen bodied Austin A40 sports, being sold as he can no longer drive it for health reasons.
The car has been in our family for about 10 years now and has been an absolute pleasure to own and drive and if I had anywhere to store it myself would not be going for sale. It is by no means a concours example but is very reliable and ready to use.
Originally this vehicle was exported to Australia and as such has the rear wheel spats fitted which were not available on UK models. Whilst there it underwent a few modifications such as a repaint in vermillion (orange) and had a 1500 twin carb engine from an mg magnetite fitted (the original engine is also being sold with the car if required)
The paint work is starting to look a little tired now as is the convertible roof but nothing need doing to the car immediately and as I previously stated it is ready to drive away and use.
Whilst we have owned the car all maintenance has been kept up with, servicing etc and even though it is mot exempt we have still sent the car for a yearly check up just to make sure. We have folders of paperwork for things we have done over the years, carbine rebuild, brake overhaul etc, again all of this will go with the car if wanted along with the various spare parts we have accumulated over time
