Purchased in 2015 as my weekend car it has been in my ownership for 8 years.
I am pleased to be able to offer this stunning and rare 1994 Jaguar XJ40 'S', finished in Flamenco red with a magnolia interior, deep red carpets and deep red rosewood trim on the dash and doors. The bodywork is in superb condition, the tyres have little wear and the interior is extremely tidy.
The car has a very good original specification including a/ c, electric windows, electric mirrors, sunroof with deflector, disc covers, Jaguar stereo etc. And is exactly as it should be.
The 4. 0 straight six performs faultlessly and offers plenty of power and torque. The automatic gearbox changes smoothly and without hesitation including the kickdown and sport mode.
The ride is typically xj6 and sports the later superior rear suspension. It is super smooth and and corners beautifully, a real tribute to Jaguar design. The car has a lot of service history and has been enthusiast owned.
It has been recently mot'd, has a low mileage of approx. 79, 000 which will rise slightly.
In conclusion, an excellent opportunity to aquire a rare and immaculate XJ40 4. 0 Sport.
The car has been cavity wax treated and wax coated on the underside annually. The drivers side seat bolster is worn but not cracked and this could still be restored to its original standard.
Throughout it's history many consumable items and service items have been replaced as expected and all the fluids have recently been changed.
Other recent replacements and maintenance items include :-
New valve stem oil seals (these harden in time)
New head gasket and engine gasket set (as part of the above)
New brake parts (front discs, pads all-round, brake flexi's all-round, fluid)
New mid silencer boxes
New rear dampers (some models top hat spacers would crack, therefore the whole units and spacers have been upgraded)
To summarize, the two hardest jobs have been done (dampers and valve stem oil seals) and this car is in really good order.
