Description
This Landrover spent its life as a farm utility in Yorkshire and surrounds .
We purchased it in 2019 in a very sad state and spent the next few years restoring it .
The work was carried out by Baldwin 4x4 and was restored to as new condition with a new galvanised chassis , new interior and paint work . Reconditioned engine and gear box . The original engine was diesel and this was reconditioned during the restoration but unfotunalty the engine was too tired , noisy and blew a lot of smoke so the decision was made to change the engine to a petrol 2. 25 of a similar age. This has transformed the car and made it much more usable and capable of 50mph + Apart from the engine change we made an effort to restore the car to as close to what it was when new and refitted some features that were missing like the Lucas wipers and the horn arm on the steering column .
The restoration was completed 2 years ago and the landcover has travelled around 3000 mile since then and it drives very well . It also has a fairy over drive and comfortably sit around 50mph on the open road .
This is a historical vehicle and is exempt from ULEZ
Very reluctant saleThis is a rare 1959 109 pickup . The first year series 2 were made . The car is grey with cream roof and wheels. Very original features . Restored by professionals to as new condition in 2021 .
