While living in the USA, I bought this bike privately from its first owner near Chicago in 1996 with 1800 miles on the clock. I brought it back to UK and first registered it here in 1998.
Recently serviced and with MOT until July 2024, it is taxed on the road. Always garaged, and with dry recreational use only, it is in excellent original condition.
It comes with a full service history and documentation going back to the first owner's 1983 purchase receipt and my Illinois license plate. This is a rare bike. The Honda Nighthawk 550SC was sold in the USA in 1983-84, and few have made it to the UK. The 64HP engine was Honda's first with DOHC, and the self adjusting hydraulic valves and solid state ignition were designed for reliable low maintenance performance. The four cylinder engine with shaft drive and comfortable seat provide a really smooth riding experience.
I have greatly enjoyed owning it, but have not used it much this summer and think that sadly, the time might have come to sell it.
