We are delighted to present for sale this 1976 Land Rover® Series 3, finished in rarely seen Mid-Grey colour scheme, with Limestone Wheels.
Externally, the vehicle sits on a set of 750 tyres, with matching bonnet spare, to fill the arches and give a strong stance. A recent canvas and new bumper help to give that sharp look ? along with a host of period features, including free wheeling hubs, original galvanised cappings, vintage number plates, rear grab handles, rear mud flaps, etc etc ? defender door mirrors mean superior visibility behind along with a towball and electrics, which includes a pin for extra safety. All in all, in our opinion, we think this Series 3 looks fantastic ? the contrast of the grey paint against the original cappings & recent bumper ? along with the sand canvas and limestone wheels and black and white number plates ? just looks ?right?.
On the inside, with the exception of a set of deluxe seats and deluxe matting to the footwells, this Series 3 is very much a standard affair. The rear is unfitted with the exception of a load mat to the floor, and covers to the tailgate chains to prevent them rattling around during driving. Rear benches can be fitted back here for £595 to bring seating to seven occupants including the driver if so desired.
Out on the road, the larger tyres mean a better cruising experience, with free wheeling hubs aiding fuel economy and limiting axle wear. It delivers a pleasing period drive aided by these items, and stops well too. The unusual colour scheme means lots of attention when driving on our test route around town!
