History File - The Porsche 964 is the company's internal name for the Porsche 911 manufactured and sold between 1989 and 1994. Designed by Benjamin Dimson through January 1986, it featured significant styling revisions over previous 911 models, most prominently the more integrated bumpers. It was the first car to be offered with Porsche's Tiptronic automatic transmission and all-wheel drive as options. Less than 6% of the total 62, 172 Porsche 964 models built were manufactured as Targa; to be precise, just 3534 in the earlier Carrera 2 guise, making this car verging on the rare side. This originally Japanese delivered car was manufactured on the 16th of July 1991 and comes with an excellent far-east Service History up to 42k kilometers. Like so many others from that period, this particular car also found its way back home and was re-imported back to Germany in 2009 by a specialist importer. In 2010, it was sold again with a Porsche Approved Used Car Status, including a thorough 111 Point Check. In 2011, it would feature in Germany?s prominent Auto Bild Klassik magazine in their February issue, confirming the cars confident status. In 2014, showing 88, 908 kilometers, the car underwent a comprehensive ?11. 746 inspection by Porsche Centre in Soest, northern Germany, keeping the car still very much up to date. Now showing 93k kilometers, the car is offered to the market again with, of course, a Porsche specialist inspection and German Historical registration.
