- 4. 2 Supercharged V8.
- Midnight Black.
- Just over 94k miles.
- 4 owners (including me).
- Serviced yearly. Invoices of servicing and maintenance going back 9+ years (myself and previous owner, using Jaguar specialists).
- ?Performance? intake.
- Calipers and alloys were refurbed and 'painted' last year.
- Magnaflow sports-cats, back boxes and 4" tips (it sounds perfect. No drone at motorways speeds but gives such a nice V8 burble, especially in tunnels!). Big plus point; Last autumn I had the inner and outer sills assessed and replaced/ repaired, any corrosion and rust on arches taken care of, and (being unhappy with a previous 'paint job') had the wings, near side and front bumper painted. All was then epoxy'd, seam-sealed and had Stone Guard applied, for future protection! Jaguar's of this age certainly have a sill corrosion problem, so this is a big box ticked for any future owner.
Just one 'negative' to note. Parking sensors aren't currently active. Diagnosed as a front outer sensors fault (when the car detects an issue, it shuts the park-assist off completely).
If you're looking to buy a V8 (while we're allowed to own such cars), the STR offers such amazing value for money. Sill condition is a weak point on these cars and, if not already dealt with, will more than likely be on the 'to do' of any STR you're interested in. I've already invested the time and money in getting this sorted... good news for you!!
