1935 Riley Nine Kestrel - with preselector gearbox
The early 1930?s saw considerable advances in car styling, with streamlining becoming very popular.
Certainly one of the most attractive designs came from Riley, with their Kestrel model which made its debut at the 1932 Motor Show.
Initially introduced with the 12hp 6 cylinder engine, a 9hp model was to follow some months later. At a time when the majority of cars were ?square rigged?, the sleek Kestrel must have really cut a dash.
This example of the Kestrel Nine is a 1935 model, fitted with the preselector transmission.
In very good order throughout, it has ownership history dating back many years and has clearly been extremely well maintained. Without a doubt, the Kestrel remains one of the very best-looking small cars of its period and always attracts attention on the roads today.
