The 1972 MGB cars were the last major update to the model before the rubber bumper versions arrived. There were various detail changes and they reverted to the attractive chrome radiator grille similar to the one fitted to the 60?s models.
This car is a 1972 MGB roadster in red with a black interior and a long list of upgrades. It had a comprehensive body and mechanical restoration 20 years ago but remains in excellent condition. The re-fit included various new body panels and an engine upgrade to Oselli 1950cc fast road spec with a stage three unleaded cylinder head, replacement interior with black leather seats, various other new parts and an overdrive re-build. It?s also fitted with braided hoses, all round and competition pads at the front with drilled and slotted discs (which transform the braking), a replacement hood from ?Don? trimming and ?Minator? alloy wheels.
On the road this well sorted MGB is a transformation and goes and stops significantly better than a standard car. The upper body is excellent and the underside is rock solid with an original appearance and an absence of ugly repairs. The paint finish is smart and presentable with one or two minor blemishes in keeping with an older restoration. One interesting feature is an expensive Kenwood ?infotainment? system with Bluetooth, DAB and Apple car play Nav.
We have just carried out some re-commissioning after a period of little use and an MOT until November 2024.
Ready to use and running and driving beautifully, this Oselli upgraded roadster would make an interesting choice for long distance tours.
