It's 1976. The hottest summer on record. Brotherhood or Man riding high in the pop parade. Southampton win the FA Cup Final.
And Ford launch the Fiesta (code name Bobcat) to an unsuspecting public.
Here we have a great example of a Mk1 Fiesta finished in Solar Gold with tan / chocolate Houndstooth upholstery.
It's a 1979 T reg 950 L model registered in Jersey initially apparently before coming to the mainland in 1999.
It's in good condition overall - amazingly solid all round. I would say it was rustproofed when new and I reckon that's helped save it.
The paintwork is shiny as is the chrome work. The interior seat fabric has suffered over the years unfortunately so the jazzy check period seat covers come with the car. The wheels are all date stamped 10/ 78 including the spare. The Fiesta also comes with a box of assorted spare parts.
MOT through November 2024 and recently serviced. The Fiesta runs very well and provides nippy performance from its 957cc OHV engine.
The mileage of 46k looks right given the condition of the car and MOT history. Although I don't have any service history, I do have an original Ford brochure plus the v5c. I also have 2 keys plus it's HPi clear. Only 2 previous owners.
Ford aren't building any more Fiestas so here is your chance to bag an early sought after Mk1 chrome bumper model in really usable decent condition to use and improve as you wish.
