EXTERIOR
Presenting in exceptional timewarp condition this beautiful Sport Pack Z3 has just arrived into stock after 20 years with the same careful owner. As to be expected with such a low mileage example that has always been garaged, both the body and underside are excellent with no damage or corrosion issues to report. We have inspected the paint in great detail and quite remarkably it’s original all round having never required any remedial cosmetic work. The depth of shine is amazing and the mohair hood is also immaculate with no rips, fading, or marks from excessive washing. The headlights are crystal clear and she’s arrow-straight along both sides. A few very light frontal stone chips further verify the car’s honesty, the only other imperfections we have been able to find being a couple of discreet kerb marks to the original 17-inch alloy wheels.
INTERIOR
As a genuine Sport Pack example the car boasts a number of eye-catching refinements over the standard Z3, most notably to the interior. The heated and electric Sport seats are trimmed in attractive two-tone upholstery, a stunning contrast against the understated silver paintwork. Soft red leather extends from the seat centres to the handbrake and gear shift gaiters, all in excellent unmarked condition. The cabin is lifted further with a striking brushed aluminium centre console unique to the Sport, an M leather gear knob, and a multifunction M leather steering wheel – again, all perfect. As with the exterior, everything inside still retains that new car freshness; there is no marking to any of the switchgear and even the stainless kickplates are scratch-free. The original cassette radio, boot-mounted CD changer, velour floor mats, and BMW first aid kit all remain in place.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Barely run-in with only 20k miles under its belt the 1. 9-litre engine is as smooth as ever. We have just had the car fully checked over and serviced and we’re pleased to report that it’s as tight as a drum to drive. The engine pulls very well and the five-speed manual ‘box is still precise to operate. Services have been carried out at the following mileage: 8, 700 – 11, 613 – 13, 865 – 16, 363 – 16, 834 – and most recently at 20, 447 miles in February 2024.
HISTORY FILE
In the hands of only two clearly very meticulous owners (the current since 2004) this 2002 Z3 Roadster has driven little over 20k miles from new. Driven on high days and holidays only the car has always been properly garaged to preserve its amazing condition. The result is what you see here, one of the cleanest and most original Z3s we have had the pleasure of selling. For the new keeper’s peace of mind, a full mechanical inspection and service have just been carried out with new Toyo tyres fitted all round; the workshop technicians were also particularly impressed with the condition of the underside.
Within the accompanying History File the lucky new owner will find the original BMW document wallet and all handbooks, the maintenance book with 6 service stamps, a raft of maintenance invoices, every single MOT certificate, and the V5C showing only one former keeper.
