1954 MG TF – extensive recent expenditure
(returning to us after £9, 000 of mechanicals)
The last of the immortal ‘T’ Series, the TF was produced from 1953 – 55 with some 9600 examples being built. As with its predecessors, the bulk of production was destined for the North American market.
This black 1954 model was imported from the States some years ago and underwent major restoration in recent times by a previous owner, the work including the fitment of a new Hutson body tub and doors. Today, this MG presents very well in all respects, testimony to the care it has received by previous owners.
MG specialists, Brown & Gammons, converted the car to RHD, whilst a complete retrim was carried out in light tan leather and the car was treated to a high quality repaint.
Much recent expenditure has been lavished on the car, this having included extensive engine work, carburettors reconditioned, gearbox overhauled and figment of a rebuilt radiator.
Sitting on wire wheels shod with recently renewed tyres, the car presents extremely well, with the hood and side screens also being recent replacements.
Paperwork with the car includes a Heritage Certificate and numerous bills and workshop manual.
