1935 Riley Nine Lynx
Totally restored from the bare chassis and probably one of the finest available!
One of the final models of the 9hp Lynx, this car has been known to me since the mid 1960’s.
Records and bills supplied with some correspondence and hire purchase documents dating back to 1938, when the car was acquired by its second owner, who purchased the car from A. J. Guppy Ltd of Great Portland Street, London W1.
The car was to remain in this ownership until 1968, whereupon it was purchased by its third owner who kept it until passing into the hands of the current owner in 2002.
Between the years 2002 and 2005, a very thorough restoration was undertaken.
More recently, the engine has undergone a rebuild and has covered only minimal mileage since, so still requires careful running in. A new battery of the correct size was fitted last year.
Fitted with pre-selector transmission, this Lynx is a fine example of what is considered to be one of the most attractive sporting tourers of its period.
