Z3 2. 8 Widebody in the James Bond spec of Atlanta Blue and Tan interior. I bought this car off its original owner last spring, it had been his, then his wife’s, then his brother then him again!
Since buying it we have spent a lot of money on it bringing it upto a nice mechanical and body condition. Here is a list of some of the work that has been done recently.
Rear brake calipers, discs and pads, subframe sanded, treated and painted. Valve cover gasket and water pump (genuine part) viscous clutch, ABS Pump, roof motor/ pump, original radio sourced, steering wheel refurbished, alloys refurbished with new centre caps and wheel bolts and 4 Toyo Proxes tyres, boot wiring, brand new battery fitted on the 1-3-24 and probably some other things that I have forgotten.
The car has been stored over winter and now we feel it’s time to move on to a Z4.
The car is a very highly optioned car, it has the M-Sport package, the rare sports seats (heated too) extended leather pack, California pack, AC, electric seats and roof, genuine wind deflector.
The car is in very good condition overall, it drives really well and is very fast, the body work has some very minor rust on the lips of the sills behind the front wheels and a small bubble on the corner of the bonnet. The sills you can still buy and they are a bolt on part. Inside is very clean, carpets all good, there is patch of leather on the dashboard that needs sticking down (common on these) and a small split on the lower bolster of the drivers seat. The roof is in excellent condition, no wear and it was cleaned and treated last year, we put the roof down two days ago to test the roof and it split the plastic window, these are only zip in and cost approx £100 to fit. It was such a shame as it was still clear and still has the supplying dealer sticker in the window along with its plates.
Overall ive probably made it sound worse than it is, but it’s a 25 year old car which really is still in very good condition. I’d certainly not hesitate to drive it anywhere. There’s a lot of history with the car and both sets of keys,
These pre facelift 2. 8 wide bodies are the one to buy for the future (especially in this colour) with minimal work this would be worth double what we would like for it.
Mot is until the end of May 2024, I have many pictures I can send to anyone who’s interested. It’s a nice genuine, unmolested car that we have really enjoyed.
