Beschreibung
The Mk2 versions of the ADO16 or “1100” were launched in October 1967 with Wolseley, Riley, MG and VP versions following in October 1968. The 1098cc engine was still available but the cars were also offered with the 1275cc “A” series engine, producing a healthy 65bhp in the Wolseley version with twin carburettors.
This car is a 1969 Wolseley 1300 MK2 in its original colour of Sandy beige. It has covered a correct 49, 000 miles from new and has had just three previous owners from new although the second and third were in the same family. The first owner, from 1969 until 1981 clocked up just 18, 000 miles. The second owner passed it to his daughter so it was in the same family for the next 40 years. It has had just one owner since, who bought it in 2022 has enjoyed owning it for two years but was using it infrequently due to advancing years. It is in outstanding condition, with a rare level of originality that only low mileage cosseted cars have and it drives beautifully. The upper body and paint finish are excellent, as is the underside which has not been welded and the interior is beautifully preserved.
This Wolseley was a fixture on the show and circuit for many years and comes with a bag full of rally plates and plaques including a first place at the Wolseley rally in 2001. It is in much the same condition today. We have just carried out some re-commissioning and a few detail jobs, it is now ready for its new owner.
Early twin carburettor versions of the AD016 are quite hard to find in this condition, this one is just right in terms of condition and provenence. It come with its original passport to service, sales brochure, handbook and a letter from the second owners confirming the history.
