A very original UK supplied F11 junior in “Luxury” 40s specification.
The car is almost totally original and has never required restoration. Condition is commensurate with the odometer reading being correct.
Exterior paintwork in Zenit Blau with a white roof (unique to the 40s). I have touched in a few paint defects, but the exterior paint is otherwise original.
Interior is undamaged, and again all original down to the floor mats and supplying dealer stickers. I have added front seat belts for safety, and a USB socket for a mobile phone or satnav, but no other changes have been made.
The engine is nice and quiet (they go rattly with mileage), and has a refurbished fuel and ignition system and has been properly tuned.
The front brake wheel cylinders have had new seals fitted, and a new gaitor fitted to the constant velocity joint. All lubrication points have been attended to. Ball and swivel joints and bearings are all tight, steering rack is good.
The underside has been fully protected and the chassis and floor, wheel arches etc is solid and has never needed repair.
This is the very rare UK-market specific dealer option 40s model. The engine was stripped by Mercedes on import, ports polished, block skimmed, domed pistons fitted and a larger carburettor choke fitted. Cosmetically, the roof was painted white and dinky walnut trims applied inside to give the “luxury” look as the advert says. The power increases from 34bhp to 40bhp and makes a huge difference to the way the car drives. It cruises comfortably at 60-65 mph, and will easily exceed 70. It can be used on the motorway without feeling hassled, and you can overtake slower vehicles. The road holding is outstanding, and it’s a thoroughly fun car to drive.
I have been using it as a daily driver, kept in a dehumidified garage overnight. Health reasons are behind me offering it for sale.
V5c present and correct. The car comes with a comprehensive history file back to the supplying dealer from new, and the full workshop and owners manuals.
Please don’t make a silly low offer, as this car is a rare time warp gem and fully worth the advertised price.

You are going to love this car as it is totally original and is the rare dealer optioned 40s tuned model. The club believe there may be only one other remaining in the UK.
At an unladen weight of only 560kg, and with double wishbone front suspension, inboard brakes, front wheel drive and a twist beam rear axle, it is fantastic to drive, will out-corner many modern cars, and has plenty enough power from the tuned engine. Plus you can comfortably put 4 people in it with a large boot for luggage. The car was years ahead of its time, and became the basis for the modern Audi company. It’s been in daily use, and everything works as it should (AFAIK!)
