RELIANT SCIMITAR GTE manual OD PAS 1980
Full History, Matching Numbers, Fully Sorted 75k miles
I've owned sorted and really enjoyed this Black Manual OD, PAS SE6a last 3~4 years but now planning to buy a convertible so GTE will be going. MoT & Tax exempt but recently passed MoT with minor advisory
The car has had pretty much everything done and is now in great condition - Not show/ concours, like a very well cared for car of its age. I've spent over £10k mostly on parts/ works at QRG. Its never let me down in the ~6k miles I've done last 3 years, always starts hot/ cold, never overheated, everything works. The three previous owners from 1991~2020 lavished money on the car with mechanical works, rebuild, respray etc while doing a total of 3k miles.
Summary of works below . Great to drive, body and paint is very good but not perfect, everything works apart from HRW (window connectors broken) and electric mirrors.
Spares package to be discussed including rear poly bush kit, NOS indicator/ headlamp stalk, service parts etc
SUMMARY

Body:
High quality re-spray in black (2011) with black SE6b door mirrors, Bonnet respray 2022
Side window, door and rear hatch seals replaced
Door window trims and weather seals replaced
Door window frames refurbished, new silent channel fitted
Drivers door hinge refurbed (QRG)
New Number plates, New rear hatch struts, New bonnet buffers
Interior:
Upgraded SE6b interior fitted (grey velour seats) to match black exterior respray (2011)
Front Seats lowered approx. 10mm
Stripped, old insulation removed and new silent coat sound barrier and insulation fitted
New front and rear seatbelts and rear seat back hinges (QRG)
New Autosounds CCS100 Classic style DAB/ Bluetooth/ USB radio
Dash removed, all switches, lights gauges checked, refurbished where needed and refitted
Chassis:
Inspected, cleaned, painted (No rust)
B Pillar body/ seat belt mount professionally repaired (QRG)
Suspension:
New AVO adjustable suspension fitted front and rear (all new springs and dampers)
Front suspension stripped, cleaned painted, rebushed and refitted
New top ball joints and ARB links
Steering:
Full system overhaul with new refurbished PAS rack new upper and lower steering column UJ’s, upper and lower steering column bushes (QRG)
New Steering Wheel (Orignal retained)
New PAS belt
Cooling:
All cooling pipes replaced with new Stainless steel pipes, new hoses,
New Rewpot and expansion bottle
High capacity colling fan (2017) and radiator sensor
Drained flushed and refilled fresh 50/ 50 mix
Brakes:
Full system overhaul with new Master cylinder, proportioning valve, flexi hoses
New front calipers, discs and pads,
New recon rear drums, shoes, cylinders, handbrake cable
Engine:
Steel timing gear, bottom end re-build (previous owner @~67k miles)
Top end rebuild with hardened valve seats (2015)
Non Balasted Ignition coil and electronic ignition (2018)
New distributor cap, rotor arm, plugs and leads
Valve covers stripped and repainted
Performance air filter (original retained and refurbished)
Full service and oil/ filter change at 70k miles
Clutch, Transmission & Drive shaft:
Gear change linked stripped, rebushed, overdrive and reverse switch operation checked
New Clutch Master and slave cylinders and braided hose (QRG)
New drive shaft (QRG)and seal
Gear box and Rear axle oil change @70k miles
Wheels and Tyres:
New Dunlop Street response 195/ 70x14 tyres
Exhaust System:
New stainless 3 branch exhaust manifolds (QRG)
New stainless exhaust system (2017) – refitted with new rubbers thoughout
Fuel System:
New stainless fuel tank and sender (2017)
Fuel pipes replaced for E10 compatible pipe and switched electric primer pump fitted (QRG)
New Fuel gauge
Carburettor stripped, cleaned, serviced and tuned
Electrical:
New high capacity alternator (QRG)
New Battery
Wiring loom checked and repaired/ replaced where needed
New 16mm2 earth loom installed with front, rear and cabin earth points
Battery Trickle charger hardwired with in cab connector
New Drivers electric window regulator
New wiper motor (2017)
Blower motors stripped serviced and mounted with new cushy feet and cages
New ignition switch block
Miscellaneous:
Rear wiper and washer removed – parts, wiring, hoses etc retained, body holes plugged
New washer bottle and motor (GTC single motor)
New Electric Aerial switched separate to radio
Some small oil leaks, nothing serious
Scimitars are fantastic useable classics and this for me is the best of best specs with the useability of SE6 - more cab space, PAS, Manual OD, classic Essex V6, late model interior in a great colour combo, improved suspension, fully overhauled brakes steering cooling electricals etc
This car has had all major works done so very presentable and useable year round
Extensive history file and bills for all major expenses
Just back from Bicester Scramble, 3h trip each way, car was faultless but I’ve seen what I want next so priced to sell
