This lovely Stag was first registered in October 1972 and comes with the original engine and 4-speed manual gearbox and working overdrive. The car was restored fully (body, engine, trim) in 2016/ 17 and purchased by me 4 years ago. It is a Mark 1 but with the Mark 2 alloys and a black running strip along the sides. The car comes with a soft top and a body coloured hard top, both of which are in good condition. The car has been dry-stored and used only in fair weather during the 8 years since restoration. It’s showing 16. 5k on the clock but it’s been around once so mileage is 116. 5k.
The paintwork is in good condition. All electrics are operating. The trim is generally in good condition with some minor imperfections to the roll-bar padding.
The car starts and runs well with working overdrive, runs up to and stays at a stable temperature. The engine pulls well and the exhaust makes the brilliant sounds these cars are loved for.
I’ve enjoyed owning this but use it very little so I’ve decided to try and sell it on. Get in touch if you want to view and test drive.
Since purchase I had a stag weber pressure tank fitted (after all the horror stories I’d been told about over-heating) and a few other normal bits of work such as new rear shocks. The car was last fully serviced and checked over by a Triumph Specialist in Bristol in March 2024 has an MOT until March 2025.
I have a large pile of renovation photos and receipts / partial service history over the last 50 odd years. It’s clear that someone cared enough to spend a lot of money including at least a couple of engine rebuilds over its life plus the one about 8 years ago.
