1948 MG TC - matching numbers
To many MG enthusiasts, the TC is the definitive model of the ‘T’ Series. Still with pre-war appearance and character, but with a few more refinements, including the extra width of the body, giving a less cramped feel in the cockpit.
The excellent XPAG Type engine provided brisk acceleration and a top speed of 75 mph - very respectable at that time. Handling was taut and responsive, as was expected from an MG. With some 10. 000 examples built between 1945 - 49 and a considerable percentage of these going for export, the TC won many friends both at home and overseas.
This example retains her original engine, matching numbers and is a late model, having been supplied by main MG distributors University Motors and registered on 24th August 1949 with the number UMG 29.
During the last few years the car has undergone major mechanical and bodywork restoration with bills provided on file.
A very correct example, it has a fairly recent mohair hood, and a car cover is also supplied. There is also a correct instructional manual.
