One of my favourite classics from this era, and a beautiful colour combination, to go with the lovely interior, not to mention a cracking wee driver!
The Wolseley 1500 is a front engine rear-wheel drive four door four seater and was produced from 1957 to 1965. In its heyday it was one of the most desirable British compact saloons.
April 1957 saw the launch of the Wolseley 1500, which combined a new Gerald Palmer styled unitary body with the Morris Minor's floor pan, rack & pinion steering, and torsion bar front suspension derived from the Morris Minor. At the rear there were semi-elliptic leaf springs and there were drum brakes fore and aft. The interior was especially appealing, with its leather upholstery and walnut veneered fascia.
Very affordable entry level classic car, classic insurance, economical to run with inexpensive maintenance costs. All parts are readily available for ongoing care and maintenance.
Please don't compare her to a modern car. She's 63 years old, and there may be imperfections, blemishes & age related wear & tear in there somewhere, even if not apparent on first viewing. It is inevitable that some degree of tinkering may be required even to a car in this condition.
Owning a classic car is a hobby & you will spend time & money in ongoing care & maintenance, this is part of the joy of owning a classic car.
