An exceptionally pretty car with loads of WOW factor, thanks to its resplendent Golden Bronze bodywork and Buckskin coloured interior with polished walnut dashboard. Runs and drives superbly having been overhauled and restored by previous keepers which included 2 new front wings, engine, carb and brake overhaul, all new window seals and re-trimmed upholstery, carpets and doorcards, must have been very expensive. Closely related to its cousin, the MG Magnette, both designed by Gerald Palmer of Jowett fame, The designs showed the influence of contemporary Italian styling, in particular a Lancia Aprilia with special bodywork by Pinin Farina. The 4/ 44 was the luxury version and in keeping with the more staid (and respectable!) image of Wolseley owners, it sat higher on the road and boasted the traditional illuminated grille badge.
