We are pleased to present this 1970 Volkswagen T2 Bay Window Westfalia, which has undergone an extensive restoration with no expense spared.
The interior of this camper has been fully refurbished throughout. This includes a new headliner (with fitted speakers). Seats (including buddy seat) and door card sets all upholstered by Kens Customs in 2019. These complemented by an original Westfalia camping interior and ¾ rock and roll bed, Sink and fridge unit. 240v sockets with USB points are powered by the external 240v connection point. To allow air into the camping area the camper has 2 lourved windows and a rear quarter light. The camper also has a polished aluminium and wooden steering wheel, Empi trigger shifter and bamboo parcel shelf in the cab area.
The exterior has had extensive restoration (receipts to document). This includes a bare metal re-spray. Panels replaced where necessary and then sealed in Mallia yellow and Pearl white. The work detailed was carried out in 2016.
Standard wheels have been replaced with aftermarket BRM Alloys and stopped by CSP front disk brake upgrade. The suspension mildly lowered and the steering box refurbished in 2019.
Substantial work in the engine bay has been carried out and currently has Rawspeed 2100cc engine with twin Solex 32-34 PDSIT carburettors, ABC fire extinguisher, serpentine MST pulley system and external oil filter and a 4-1 stainless steel header and quiet pack exhaust. The gearbox was rebuilt by BEARS in 2014
Upon the vehicle's arrival in the UK, an administrative error occurred regarding its year of registration. The logbook and vehicle registration plate indicate it is a 1967 model which is incorrect. Based on the VIN number, the third and fourth digits being '0' and '2' confirms it is a 1970 model. This discrepancy will have no effect on future ownership.
