Description
This early V8 Discovery is a very original example.
They didn't make the the carburettor version for very long before the EFi version came along so these are really the suffix A of Discoverys!
Up to date V5 registration document in my name.
Built on 16th May 1990 and shipped to Ruette Braye Motors in Guernsey where it as registered on 6th June 1990.
It came back to the UK in January 1991 and was registered as G171 WDU.
The last owner had it for 23 years and used it for a while until taking it off the road in 2007 and storing it.
I bought it 4 years ago and have started the recommissioning work.
Lots of history including all owners from new, heritage certificate and old MOT's.
It now needs recommissioning/ restoring due to being off the road for so long.
I have recently got it running and put 4 excellent condition tyres on it.
New radiator and viscous fan assembly as this had been taken off in favour of an electric fan.
New front shock absorbers and new front brake callipers.
It will obviously need all the brakes going through as it has been stood so long.
It will need welding in all the usual places but is certainly not as bad as some I have seen!
Chassis looks in good solid condition.
The interior is in good order with minimal wear to the seats
Comes with the original cubby bag.
MOT certificates from 1997 - 2007 backing up the mileage of 98, 338.
Ideal for export to America as it has the original chassis in good condition and the chassis number is clearly stamped and matches the chassis plate.
The original engine no 27L01232B fires up instantly and settles to a lovely idle.
These early Discoverys have been rising in value for some time and I know I will regret selling but I have several other projects on the go!
