This is a UK from new, matching numbers R100.
Not to be confused with your average stripped back RS or RT, this is the much sought after ‘81 - ‘84 naked roadster, complete with improved electrics, suspension, and most importantly, twin Brembo front brakes and drum rear.
I sold this same bike last year to good customer of mine, and I have to say that Steve has done a splendid job of lifting the bike to the quite superb standard you hopefully see in the pics. New tyres, powder coated wheels, brake overhaul including new shoes, braided lines etc, carbs rebuilt, new stainless pipes, new bars, new crash bars, fork overhaul, etc, etc. At the same time, the bike had a professional re finish in original BMW Atlantic blue metalic, with hand painted coachlines, and is unmarked and superb. Krauser period panniers and frames are fitted, and I will be fitting a new “Surefoot” sidestand prior to the bike leaving the unit.
The bike is of course, Historic status, so tax free, and MOT exempt, off the button hot or cold, and ready to go. Even at this price, here at JTR Classic BMW, Washington, North East England, I’ll be happy to consider YOUR Airhead in part exchange, cash either way.
