With only 4 AMILCAR "Delmer Renoult" (DR) engines recorded in the world (*) , this fast and lively CGS makes it a rare car that will win you over. This tumbled engine, modified by the Amilcar racing department, has won numerous hill-climb races and Km runs with drivers such as Scaron and Jeuffrain. The period patent of the 2 engineers from the racing department, Mr Delmer and Mr Renoult, guarantees that it is 35% faster than the side-mounted engine. My experience compared with my CGS3 proves this.
Mr Delmer and Mr Renoult were then the creators of the exceptional 8-cylinder ROBUR (see Gilles FOURNIER book, page 54). This engine, entirely rebuilt by Provence Moteur, is of very high quality and reliable (Vilo and Phœnix reinforced connecting rods, dished pistons made to measure in the USA, long camshaft, fitting of an oil filter, new clutch and flywheel, new timing system....( photos and invoices), vehicle still being run in.
