HERE at Martin Howey Classics (Est. 26 years) we do not claim to sell the most expensive or even the very best classic vehicles. What we do claim to do is sell probably the best value for money examples.
To that end, today we offer for sale a very early TVR Taimar, registered in February, 1977. The superb looking Taimar was launched at the 1976 Motor Show in October and was an instant hit with its tried and tested 3. 0 Essex V6 engine. Only 395 Taimars were built and this one, VIN number 3859FM, was number 21 off the production line. It can be checked on the TVR Taimar Register's website.
CAR HAS BEEN ON THE RAMP TODAY (DEC. 29) AND THE CHASSIS/ FRAME/ BOX SECTIONS/ OUTRIGGERS ETC. ARE EXCELLENT. NO WORK NEEDED UNDERNEATH THIS CAR WHATSOEVER.
Recently recommissioned after just over a decade of storage, she is on the button and sounds absolutely fabulous. I have driven her - very carefully - around the yard to make sure she does what she does. I was gentle on the throttle. She feels like she wants to take off! A very pretty example. And if you are new to the Taimar and its market value, then take a look on the world famous carandclassic website, where you will see mine plus another four. That should give you a fair idea of their worth! This looks to be a nice, solid old girl with some paint imperfections which you could either leave well alone or address. Interior is tidy and I also show today's photo of the engine bay. The hatchback is proving tricky as I am unable to work out how to open it. I read on a Taimar forum that it's a common fault and they stick through lack of use. All in all, a lovely little flying machine for a simply unbelievable price. There is a decent history file with the car. She has also had a 5-speed box fitted.
