HERE is my 1963 Humber Sceptre Mark 1 for sale. She is a 1963 model and a very nice example of a British sports saloon which rarely finds its way onto the classic car market these days. These 1960s up-market Rootes Group cars were always highly appealing with a 1600cc high compression alloy head and that stunning seven-clock sports dashboard.
This is a solid example with a lovely interior and she is a delight to drive. She is 4-speed with factory fitted overdrive on 3rd and 4th. It would not click in during my test drive, but nine times out of ten it tends to be a simple solenoid fault. Great on the road, cruising with immense ease. Weber carb and servo assisted brakes. Paint work showing its age in places but context is all and you can go and pay almost double for a show queen - if you can find one in the first place. All in all, an ideal 60s sports classic to jump in and enjoy as regular transport.
