Description
1957 Frégate Grand-Pavois, in excellent condition. Visible in the Haut-Var region, it is registered as a collector's car and is exempt from roadworthiness tests (pre-1960). The car has undergone a bodywork overhaul to correct a few minor problem areas (photo file available), and the two-tone dark blue/ light blue paintwork has been redone.
Upholstery completely redone by saddler, seats (with front and rear armrests) in navy blue velour and light blue skai, headlining, floor carpet and floor mats, door panels, rear deck trim, sun visors, door armrests.
The car is fitted with a number of interesting accessories: 5 spoked wheels, towbar, Marchal fog lamps, blue plexiglass sun visor, bonnet plane, all Robris. The engine is in very good working order and has been overhauled with the help of the Frégate Club de France. For greater reliability, the dynamo has been replaced by an alternator and an 8-blade fan has been fitted. This beautiful car has featured in a number of films, including "Populaire" and "La Nonne 2". It was also the subject of a report in Xavier De Nombel's book "Ces belles voitures dont a rêvé mon père", published by E. T. A. I.. I own a copy of the book, autographed by the author, and this car is sure to be a hit at classic car shows and outings.
