Description

Specialist in classic and sports cars offers for sale this rare Talbot Lago Baby T15: - Registered: 10/ 05/ 1951 - Colour Black - Interior Grey fabric - Engine 2L7 litres twin cam 110hp - 4 speed gearbox on the steering wheel With the serial number 121591 this Talbot Lago Baby is a first hand car delivered in 1951 to a Breton notary, it was then in a museum then this car was taken out of a private collection to come to us. The T15 Lago Baby (not to be confused with the T15 Baby or Cadette, pre-war models with 6-cylinder engines) was produced between 1949 and 1952. It was a "small" T26 with a 4-cylinder 2. 7-litre engine, enabling Talbot to offer a cheaper model than the T26 while benefiting from the prestige of the Talbot brand and the sporting aura associated with racing successes (Grand Prix, Le Mans 1950). The "Lago Baby" had a chassis 25cm shorter (2. 95m instead of 3. 20m) than the normal T15, derived from motor racing, and was presented at the Paris Motor Show in 1949. To date, 68 of the 410 cars produced have been identified. A rare car, it has never been restored and is in its original condition (according to the museum where it was exhibited, it is the only one in the world that is both original and running). Originally designed for a 6-cylinder engine, a 4-cylinder 2. 7L twin cam engine developing 110bhp (15bhp for tax purposes) took its place after the war. It has hydraulic brakes, has never been repainted and has a unique patina. The interior is also completely original. The battery has been replaced and approximately €8000 was needed to get this vehicle back on the road (maintenance, checks, consumables, restart, radiator refurbishment, brakes, etc.). This is a unique opportunity to purchase a rare French classic car in original condition. The Talbot factory produced around 40, 000 vehicles between 1919 and 1957. During this period, we can distinguish between 1919 to 1933 and 1933 to 1957, the era of Anthony Lago. This car therefore had only one owner, so we have the original registration document. It has always slept in a dry place, it shows no corrosion, only a beautiful patina of time. We can carry out trade-ins on classic, youngtimer and sports cars; Errors may have crept into the advert, please excuse us. Located 20 minutes from the Belfort - Montbéliard TGV station and 1 hour from Basel/ Mulhouse airport, we can carry out this transport according to your needs.
