From its wide-arched stance wrapped in HT Autos and ABW Motorsport bodywork, to the iconic World Rally Team livery that drips with nostalgia, every line whispers of forest stages and podium finishes. The full-carbon-wrapped WRC rear wing, functional WRC-spec roof vent, and roof-mounted camera pod elevate the aesthetic from replica to reverent recreation.
But it’s not just for show.
In 2022, the heart of this beast — a 2. 5-litre turbocharged flat-four — was rebuilt by GT Motorsport’s Graham Sweet (ex-Prodrive), fortified with forged Omega pistons, Brian Crower rods, ACL race bearings, ARP studs, and a nitride STI crankshaft. It now pulses with approximately 330bhp, ready for more should you wish to unleash it with a larger turbo. The engine had 60, 000 miles prior to the rebuild, and has seen careful use since — primarily as a showpiece and occasional commuter.
Inside, you’re greeted by motorsport purpose: a Caged Laser custom roll cage (with certificate), Sparco ERGO 2 XL rally seats, 3” Sparco harnesses valid until 2026, and carbon and fibreglass trim throughout. From the hydraulic handbrake, to the plumbed-in fire extinguisher and Peltor intercom system, it’s a cockpit ready for pace notes or petrolhead admiration.
Chassis and handling are similarly up to the task, with K Sport 8-pot brakes, BC BR adjustable coilovers, full underbody protection, and Speedline 18” wheels running without spacers thanks to perfect ET fitment. The car is fully undersealed and ready for spirited road use, exhibitions, or even historic and demo events.
Despite its pedigree and preparation, this Subaru has never seen a rally stage. Instead, it’s been cherished — a garage-kept artefact of passion and precision.
