Hello, I am selling my 1972 Corvette C3, fully original, matching number: engine, gearbox (manual) and chassis. Small block (5. 7 litre) - 200 HP.
Owner for 7 years, I have changed :
- All the bearings, seals, discs and springs of the axle's limited-slip differential - All the silent-blocks of the rear suspension arms - All the silent-blocks of the front suspension wishbones - All the silent-blocks of the front stabiliser bar - All 4 shock absorbers - All 2 front suspension springs - All 4 brake calipers (o-ring assembly), their rigid and flexible hoses - All the handbrake mechanism (shoes, springs, levers... in the rear hubs) - Rear wheel bearings with spy seals - Water pump - Cooling fan viscous coupling - Lower cooling radiator hose - Two heating radiator hoses - All carburettor seals (+ adjustments to all throttle angles) - Speedometer and rev counter cables - Two door handles - Two brake callipers (o-ring assembly), rigid and flexible hoses - Two brake callipers (o-ring assembly), rigid and flexible hoses - All hand brake mechanism (piston rings, springs, levers, etc. in rear hubs) - Rear wheel bearings with spy seals - Water pumpThe 2 door handles - The left door lock mechanism - The seals on the 2 doors - The seals on the T-tops - The rear hub carrier tie rods with their silent blocks and eccentric screws (camber adjustment) - The 2 universal joints on the gearbox/ axle drive shaft I have added :
- A servo brake (pneumatic braking assistance), - A battery circuit-breaker (provides security and anti-theft protection) - well hidden and accessible at the same time.
I had: - the alignment - camber - caster & pivot of the front and rear axles adjusted in a specialist garage with the appropriate adjustment bench. I'm a car, motorbike and aeroplane mechanic: I carried out all the work with all the quality associated with my lifelong passion for mechanics!
I have over €5, 000 in spare parts invoices. The chassis is sound, with no surface rust or perforating rust (endoscope check), and all the dismantled parts have been sanded white and repainted (half driveshafts, main shaft, axle, leaf springs, rear arms, suspension triangles, etc.).
The paintwork (Green Ellkart) is original, with some defects, but for over 50 years, it still looks good! In short, everything works, except for the clock (like many Corvettes) and the air conditioning needs recharging if necessary (I prefer to drive without the T-tops!) Of course, all the oil changes have been carried out (engine, gearbox, axle) and the brake fluid was completely replaced when the callipers were changed. All cylinder compressions are OK. No oil consumption.
Tyres and brakes (discs and pads) in excellent condition. Lots of photos available taken during all this refurbishment work. Note: respectful of the mechanics, NEVER burns, skids or anything else. I leave that to others... Used exclusively for rides, concentrations, or fetching bread! Visible on Le Mans Price to be discussed.
