Description
We present to you one of the very earliest CX GTI models from 1977, with its chrome bumpers and matte black glass surrounds and a front air deflector.
Delivered in France in September 1977, our CX has just been restored in its original colour, Régate blue (AC644). The interior, for its part, is entirely original. We note that the fabric on the top of the rear seats has a little sun-damage.
Mechanically, this GTI runs very strongly, a service has been carried out by a Citroën specialist. Its second owner undertook, in 2021, a mechanical restoration with notably the replacement of the five spheres, engine mounts, tyres, etc.
The 2, 347 cm3 petrol injection engine, type L Jetronic, revs up perfectly and with 128 hp coupled to a 5‑speed gearbox, this CX can cover all kinds of journeys and can even reach 191 km/ h. Note that the engine temperature gauge and fuel gauge operate intermittently.
The mileage of 83, 800 km seems consistent with the car’s condition.
The first owner kept this CX from 1977 to 2019, i. e. 42 years of loyalty!
