‘77 VW Bay Window Camper Van – RHD with Ragtop Sunroof

Originally purchased from UK Sports Cars in 2019, this right-hand drive 1977 Bay Window Camper is a brilliant example of a classic VW reimagined with modern touches. Restored in 2018/ 19, the van was completely stripped back, rust-repaired, and repainted.
One of the standout features is the rare sliding ragtop sunroof—often referred to as a “Paris ragtop”, flooding the cabin with light. Beneath the surface, the original engine was replaced with an upgraded 2. 0L air-cooled unit running twin Weber carburettors, delivering both power and reliability. An Empi quick shifter, improved suspension and upgraded brakes give added control and confidence on the road.
The bespoke interior was hand-built in Spring 2019 and includes oak veneered skirting, Formica-fronted cabinets, and a smartly integrated Dometic fridge, hob, and sink unit. There’s a rock ’n’ roll bed, table, and custom upholstery, all designed for comfort and functionality. It's beautifully finished with thoughtful details throughout.
Since purchase, an additional investment of over £2, 500 has been made in fitting a leisure battery system with cut-off switches, LED lighting, USB charging ports, a 13A plug socket, and more—making it ready for both off-grid trips and campsite stays.
Comes with a Vango awning and tons of Vango camping extras, some which have never been used.
