Description
1989, Citroen BX 16RS, 71k, Petrol, Manual, £3, 995.
Just as the full-size DS was eventually replaced by the CX, Citroën’s smaller hydropneumatics offering, the GS/ GSA was superseded by the BX which entered production in 1982. The BX proved a worthy successor, continuing the use of hydropneumatics suspension and a raft of unconventional features only Citroën was ever brave enough to conceive.
We’re pleased to offer this highly original and remarkably well-preserved 1989 BX 16RS. For Citroën collectors seeking a period-correct example, few surviving BXs are as good as this one which is supplied with an MOT till April 2026, warranted mileage of 71k and recently subject to a comprehensive service, carb tune up by Roach Classics and front brake discs and pads in readiness for sale. The car drives like a breath of fresh air.
This Citroen BX 16RS was registered in June 1989 and has had just 2 registered previous keepers.
The literature includes the book packs with owner's handbook, radio instructions, Citroen dealer directory and service book. There's also a photocopy of a Haynes workshop manual on the model. Also present is a vast array of invoices for works over the years including MOT certificates dating back to new!
Condition wise she’s lovely. Body work free of major blemishes and the paint work is nice and bright. Just minimal wear and tear present. Interior is also in gorgeous condition.
