Description
This car is quite unique as it has a distinctive shape and is a rare 4 cylinder model in Spruce Green. I bought this car from a family member who lived in Swindon three years ago. He spent a lot of time and money on bringing it up to its present condition in which time the engine, gearbox, front suspension and body work were completely refurbished. The original Zenith carburettor was replaced by a twin choke Weber sitting on a bespoke four branch S/ S manifold which improves the performance dramatically but still achieves 30 mpg using E5 petrol. It has a MOT up until April 2026 and has been lovingly cared for over the years. It is rust free and has been Waxoyled underneath. The interior seats and trim are all original and have no damage or tears. I’ve fitted three extra gauges, oil pressure, temperature and a voltmeter for peace of mind. The two bench seats will accommodate 6 people , the front one can seat 3 due to the non existent gear lever as it has a four speed column gear change. The boot is huge, 21-75 cubic feet, plenty of room for golfers gear etc: or car rally equipment . I just love the unique styling and it drives like a dream with positive light steering and powerful servo brakes. Another feature is that all the doors open at 90 degrees and this is why it would make an ideal wedding car or taxi which is what they were often used for. The large boot was used in an episode of “Heartbeat” which was repeated on 5/ 6/ 24 in Series 14 episode 12 in which the female doctor was stopped in her car by kidnappers and she was bundled into the boot and driven off. I am very reluctant to sell this car but ill health has forced me to pass it on to someone who will appreciate it.
