Very presentable and good looking car inside and out, and garners admiring looks whenever it is out and about.
Although not a concours car it runs well and is, as described in some publications, "pedestrian but dependable".
I have owned this car for c. 35 yrs, although beyond that there is no history. The inside has been reupholstered (although there are differences to the standard in the provision of rear arm rests), and the roof recovered.
The engine that came with it was a marine type, and I replaced it with an age related correct example. Recent work has included; retensioning the front springs, reboring the cylinders and fitting new pistons (still needs running in) and replacing the Lucas mag with a Simms commercial type - more reliable spark in all conditions, and a light overhaul of the dynamotor. Oil pressure is excellent, charging is good, and the cooling system is watertight. The original lucas electric windscreen wiper also operates.
This car has a nickel radiator, and nickel fittings which look so much softer in effect than chrome, also a functioning Lucas vacuum headlamp dipping mechanism.
There is some minor work to be done on paintwork here and there - in particular the lower corner of the drivers door, where some blistering has appeared, and the side valance forward of the same door, where some product has marked the paint at some point.
The rear luggage rack and box are a non standard creation, but enable the carrying of spare water, fuel, jack and tools, picnic basket etc.
There are a few small spares to go with the car - including a spare Simms type magneto which will need attention before it is serviceable. DS9222 has happily carried me all over the UK in the past, and has been used for a few weddings, but has done little work in the last 25 years, save for the occasional show. I now have other interests and would like it to go to someone who will use it and enjoy it. Will consider offers.
