Entering production in 2010, the GTS transformed the E92-generation M3 from a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG and Audi RS4 rival into a challenger for the almighty Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Core to its acclaim was the V-8 being increased from 4. 0 to 4. 4 litres and revving even higher (to 8, 300 rpm) to transmit 450 PS via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Unforgettably, it was dressed in striking Fire Orange while the rear seats made way for a roll cage.
From a limited run of 135 cars, this example is believed to be the very first production M3 GTS built for the serial number “001” is inscribed on the dashboard trim. The rest of the interior consists of black Alcantara, with the Recaro bucket seats fitted with Schroth race-style harnesses. A rare specification for a GTS, this car was configured with air conditioning and the BMW Professional radio.
Holding a 17 May 2010 date of production, this revered entry into the M3 bloodline was delivered new to Germany then bought by The Best of M Collection in August 2018. Benefitting from a May 2025 service at Autoleth A/ S of Haderslev in Denmark, the car displayed a remarkably low 176 kilometres at the time of cataloguing.
