Available to purchase directly from Jaguar Classic is this outstanding 1958 XK150 3. 4 Roadster in “S” Specification. Finished in its original colour scheme of Carmen Red with red leather trim and a black hood. Supplied new to the USA via Jaguar Cars New York, the car came back to the UK in 2015, having been off the road in the USA for the preceding twenty-plus years. As an “S” specification car it features triple SU carburettors, Powerlok limited slip differential, overdrive, and around 250 bhp which was not an insignificant amount of power in 1958!
The car has undergone a meticulous full restoration here in the UK over a number of years. Having resided in a “dry-state” area of the USA the car formed an excellent candidate for restoration and consequently its original chassis required no welding, and the body panels are all original. The basis of this restoration was to ensure that every detail was correct as per original and to achieve a fit and finish as close to perfection as possible. The best marque experts were used during the restoration process including Suffolk & Turley for the trim, MRC for paintwork and David Williams for the engine & gearbox. The only deviation from factory-specification is the change to a single twelve volt battery in lieu of the dual six volt batteries originally fitted.
Since the completion of the restoration the car has won a number of Concours events, including Best XK150 at the JDC National day in 2022, and best XK at the JDC’s prestigious Champion of Champions event in 2025. These results go some way to highlight the outstanding quality of the restoration which has arguably produced the best XK150 available, and indeed the fact that the car is still in amazing condition – the underside presenting as well as the pristine bodywork.
The car will be supplied to its new owner with 12 months warranty and 12 months breakdown cover.
