1965 Triumph TR4A IRS – In Preparation
We are delighted to offer this exceptional 1965 Triumph TR4A IRS.
The car has been the subject of a restoration by Triumph and Jaguar specialists M&T Classics of Wolverhampton in 2021.
The restoration was commissioned by a discerning Staffordshire enthusiast who funded the project from the outset. Upon completion, he deemed the car too fine for him to use and kept it carefully stored. The decision to part with it comes only as a means of funding his son’s karting career.
Factory History
This is a UK-market TR4A, built on 3rd February 1965 and supplied new via A. G. Boyes & Company Ltd., Huddersfield, on 31st March 1965. It left the factory finished in Signal Red with black interior and hood, and equipped with Goodyear 695 x 15 tubeless tyres, heater, windscreen washers, and dip-left headlights.
The original registration number EVH 575C, first issued in Huddersfield, remains with the car today. All of this is confirmed by the accompanying British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate.
Restoration
EVH 575C presents in outstanding condition, testament to the quality of M&T Classics’ work. The chassis and body were separated, the panels painstakingly aligned, and the car refinished to a superb standard. Many if not all components are brand new, and the fit, finish, and attention to detail are of a quality far surpassing original factory standards. This is, without doubt, the finest TR4A we have ever offered at The Forge Prees.
Documentation
The car is supplied with: Current V5C, Heritage Certificate, Triumph TR4A Owner’s Manual, Triumph Sales Brochure and photographs of the restoration. There is no documentation covering the car’s early life.
