Exterior:
This 1968 Shelby GT500KR features its original Lime Gold exterior, complemented by clean white side decals that accentuate the car's classic lines. The vehicle retains its original Shelby alloy wheels fitted with Goodyear tires, contributing to an authentic and well-preserved appearance. The interior of this Shelby GT500KR is presented in exceptional condition and finished in the rare Saddle Brown upholstery. Of the 1, 452 GT500KR models produced in 1968, only six were originally equipped with this interior color, making this example particularly noteworthy. Mechanically, the 1968 Shelby GT500KR is powered by the legendary Cobra Jet V8 engine, officially rated at 335 horsepower but widely known to produce closer to 435 horsepower due to period underrating for insurance reasons. This engine is paired with the smooth and reliable C-6 Select Shift Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission, which delivers power confidently and without hesitation. This example performs exactly as expected, driving, shifting, and braking correctly and with the strong, consistent feel characteristic of a well-maintained Cobra Jet–equipped Shelby.
