A wonderfully honest and increasingly hard-to-find Daimler Sovereign Six, presented here in a highly attractive and period-correct specification. Finished in Cobalt Blue with Doeskin Hide, this example perfectly captures the understated elegance that Daimler did so well during the Series III era.
Powered by the legendary 4. 2-litre straight-six petrol engine and paired with a smooth automatic transmission, this Sovereign Six is widely regarded as the more practical and usable choice over the Double Six, offering all the refinement without the added complexity.
Prior to sale, the car will be supplied with 12 months MOT (noting it becomes MOT-exempt in April this year). It will also benefit from a fresh service, including:
• Engine oil and filter change
• New set of spark plugs
• Gearbox oil change
The provenance is particularly impressive. The car comes with a huge history file of invoices dating back to when the car was new, documenting routine servicing and maintenance carried out by main dealers, independent specialists, and marque experts. The original book pack and manuals are present, accompanied by a fully stamped maintenance booklet, along with the original Daimler toolbox in the boot.
With a current mileage of approximately 114, 000, this Daimler has clearly been used and enjoyed as intended. Importantly, it remains an original, unrestored example, which shows in its honest presentation. There is crazing on many panels and cosmetic imperfections to other areas, but these do little to detract from the overall appeal. Rust is notably minimal throughout, which is increasingly rare for a car of this age.
The interior is in fine condition, having aged gracefully over the years. The Doeskin hide remains supple and inviting, complemented beautifully by the classic walnut wood veneers with just some Lacquer peel.
Overall, this is a good, usable Sovereign Six—ideal for regular enjoyment, classic touring, or simply as a refined entry into classic Daimler ownership.
