Unveiled in 1968 as the crowning achievement of Sir William Lyons, founder of Jaguar, the XJ quickly established itself as one of the finest and most accomplished saloons of its era. The Daimler Sovereign represents the most exclusive version, with a more luxurious finish and distinctive styling.
Today, the Series 1 is regarded as the purest and most sought-after of the early XJs.
This rare 1971 Daimler Sovereign Series 1 is fitted with the famous 4. 2-litre inline-six engine mated to an automatic gearbox.
Remarkably well-preserved and meticulously maintained, it has retained all the charm of the great British saloons: timeless styling, fine wood trim, a cosy ambience and remarkable driving comfort.
