Description
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Sale at Race Retro 2026 - Collectors' Cars on Saturday the 21st of February, Stoneleigh Park, Stoneleigh Rd, Coventry, CV8 2LG. Used during UK-based filming of Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning (2025), this 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon four-door carries the on-set designation 'Ethan 1' and was constructed by Auto Action, a globally respected leader in high-end stunt vehicle engineering. This is not a tribute and not a replica, it's a genuine, professionally prepared stunt vehicle built for filming scenes involving the film’s lead character, Ethan Hunt, portrayed by Tom Cruise.
There were a number of similar vehicles on set to allow for stunt damage etc. and we understand that Tom would have driven the others on occasion, however, this car 'Ethan 1' was the 'hero' jeep used during the mine chase scene with Tom Cruise driving it.
It was prepared to withstand the demands of major motion picture stunt work and features a fully-welded internal roll-cage, 4-point stunt harnesses fitted to the front seats, and a professionally installed fire suppression system. A rear-mounted steel containment box houses the stunt fuel cell, supported by a dedicated stunt battery and full electrical power isolation system. A secondary stunt braking system operating on the rear wheels is fitted, allowing precise control during filming manoeuvres. Externally, the Jeep presents with real presence, riding on BF Goodrich off-road tyres mounted on black alloy wheels, complemented by heavy-duty sill step bars and a reinforced front bumper.
This vehicle is offered exactly as used during filming, retaining its specialist stunt hardware and unmistakable screen-used character. It represents a rare opportunity to acquire an authentic piece of modern action cinema — equally suited to a serious collection, museum or exhibition display, promotional use, or specialist controlled-environment driving.
UK-registered, OE23 SOJ, on 23rd June 2023, it's supplied with its V5C indicating one former registered keeper, the rear seats, a boxed new front bumper, number plates, and the purchase invoice from the film's production department offering Mission Impossible provenance. The odometer, at the time of cataloguing was reading 115 miles.
