The new 997. 2 models received a new 6-cylinder, 3. 8 litre boxer engine delivering 500hp with revised Borg-Warner (VTG) turbos. Porsche’s figures showed that the 911 Turbo would travel from 0 to 62 mph in just 3. 4 seconds and reach a top speed of 195 mph, although many automotive publications proved that Porsche may have been a little modest in their claims.
The Generation II cars shed up to 50kg as part of the improvement process, and Porsche dialled back the turbo boost pressure a little for extra driveability and a keener throttle response. Porsche also revised the engine mounts that came with the Sports Chrono pack to improve chassis tautness. Most important of all were the changes to the ride, improvements to the spring and damper rates meant this car's whole attitude to poor road surfaces became far more forgiving.
Supplied new by Porsche Centre Solihull in March 2011, our super 997 Turbo coupe has benefitted from a full Porsche service history (7 visits), with the stamped service book detailing all of its main dealer service visits. A new N-rated tyre set has also been fitted. A full driver’s book pack and spare remote key are present. This 997. 2 Turbo is all ready to be enjoyed and a 12-month RAC warranty will also be included.
