Description
BMW R 75/ 5 from 1972 in very good nick.
It runs like clockwork, ~50 in 4th gear with plenty of smoothness and has good road manners with royal comfort. The cruising speed is around 120–130 km/ h, the engine is turning at 4500–5000 rpm (redline at 6800); beyond that, it’s the rider who can’t keep up...
For any distance I can even deliver it in exchange for a return ticket and the costs.
€4000 of costs on top of the purchase price, counting on the resale of some dismantled parts. I would never make money from my motorcycles...
Briefly:
- all teflon-coated cables are new
- carbs rebuilt
- fork restored (including the tubes)
- new wheel and steering bearings
- new starter
- new Hoske exhausts with a very nice, reasonable sound
- oil sump with large capacity
- new speedometer and rev counter
- new electronic ignition
- new starter
- new hydraulic steering damper (original period option)
- new fuel taps
- etc...
The electrical system as well as the ignition/ distribution had been redone before I bought it.
Questions are welcome and more photos on request.
The price can be negotiated in person with the bike present, not by message without knowing what one is talking about...
