“Collection by Vermant” is pleased to be able to offer you this magnificent Mercedes 190 SL. Despite being registered in 1963, this SL’s vin number corresponds to a 1962 model year example. It was not uncommon for cars to sit on showroom floors for a while before being sold and registered to their first owners. Unfortunately not much is known about the early life of this Mercedes until it was purchased by its last owner in 1997. By this time, the care was in dire need of some love and needed a full restoration. Since acquiring the car, he only used it sparingly and only when weather condition were perfect. This makes that the car has only covered 5. 000 km over a period of 11 years. The car has been mechanically cared for during these 11 years by the owner himself and is mechanically very sound.
Today, this car is painted in the beautiful colour Feuerwehrrot (DB534) or better known as Fire Engine Red. This colour can not only be found on the body of the car, but also in the interior. The dashboard of the car has been painted in Feuerwehrrot to complement the exterior colour. The dashboard colour on a 190SL always matches its exterior colour. When continuing on the exterior, we can also find the Feuerwehrrot on the rims and the partially chrome hubcaps. When looking at the interior, we find a beautiful beige leather interior that has a nice patina throughout!
This 190SL has been subject to a restoration a couple of years ago. Today, this car is still equipped with the rare and original Solex carburettors, Clock in the glove compartment lid, satin black finish of the engine compartment and the luggage compartment, Matching carpets in the passenger and luggage area and 5 correct wheels of which the spare wheel is still in new and unused condition. During this restoration, no expense was spared to bring the car back into showroom condition. Pictures from this restoration are present in the file of the car and also in the picture gallery. The restoration was done by the owner himself and was done to a very high level. Both the bodywork and the mechanical aspect of the car where completely overhauled to bring it back into as new condition.
In short, this beautiful 190SL is ready to enjoy the road again in style and comfort with its new owner.
